Seminar about Micromachined Ultrasound Transducers

Chipsc2-lt project partner VILNIUS TECH invites you to a seminar, where an international imec expert Dr. Samer Houri will present the latest achievements in micromachined ultrasonic transducers.

Date and time: 16 April 2026, 10:20–11:50 h.

Location: Plytinės St. 25, Vilnius (VILNIUS TECH),  Room P2-158

Speaker: Dr. Samer Houri, imec (Leuven, Belgium)

Registration: on site

About the Seminar

This seminar provides a comprehensive overview of two MEMS-based platforms — Capacitive Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers (CMUT) and Piezoelectric Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers (PMUT) — and their applications in real-world settings.

Key topics include:

  • Introduction to Micro-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) and their key characteristics
  • Advantages of CMUT and PMUT technologies over conventional ultrasonic transducers
  • Application areas: medical imaging, gesture recognition, and non-destructive testing (NDT)

Why attend?

This seminar is highly valuable for both industry and academia:

  • For companies: gain insights into how CMUT and PMUT technologies can be integrated into next-generation products — from medical devices to industrial inspection systems. Understand emerging trends that can strengthen your R&D and innovation strategy.
  • For PhD students and researchers: learn about cutting-edge MEMS research directions, real-world applications, and technology challenges directly from a leading expert in the field. This is a valuable opportunity to connect theory with industrial practice.
