The Swedish Chips Competence Center (SCCC) is organizing two upcoming webinars this May, highlighting major European initiatives in advanced semiconductor and photonic technologies. The events will introduce the “NanoIC” and “PIXEurope” pilot lines, offering insights into future collaboration, technology access, and innovation opportunities for industry, startups, SMEs, and researchers across Europe.
NanoIC Pilot Line Webinar — 22 May
On 22 May, SCCC will host a webinar dedicated to the NanoIC Pilot Line, a European initiative focused on semiconductor technologies beyond the 2 nm node. During the session, experts from imec will present the latest developments in advanced logic, next-generation memory technologies, and advanced packaging solutions.
Participants will also learn about opportunities to access the pilot line infrastructure, collaborate on research and innovation projects, and engage in training activities designed to strengthen Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem.
NanoIC is one of the flagship initiatives under the European Chips Act, aiming to accelerate the development and industrial deployment of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies in Europe.

PIXEurope Webinar — 26 May
On 26 May, SCCC will organize a second webinar focused on the PIXEurope Pilot Line, dedicated to advanced photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technologies. The webinar will provide an overview of PIXEurope’s technology offerings, access opportunities, and future development plans.
A keynote presentation will be delivered by Marina Santana from ICFO in Barcelona, who is actively involved in coordinating the PIXEurope initiative and advancing the industrialization of integrated photonics in Europe.
The session will conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with project representatives and experts.
PIXEurope is part of Europe’s broader semiconductor strategy, supporting the development of advanced photonic chips and strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty in semiconductor and photonics innovation.
