Introduction to Chip Design and Technologies
Course category: Entry level course
Target audience: Corporate employees with no prior experience in designing integrated circuits (ICs) and their chips using the Cadence software suite.
Course summary: The Chip Design and Technology course introduces modern submicron and nanometric CMOS and BiCMOS technologies, as well as the steps and principles of integrated circuit (IC) design, technology libraries from IC manufacturers, and software packages. The course also examines the nuances of designing digital and analog integrated circuits, chip packaging, and assembly processes. Lectures cover design costs and methods for developing IC specifications. Through laboratory work, students gain practical experience by designing a simple two-stage operational amplifier-from the initial concept to preparing the chip for fabrication.
